# Ion Creangă Memorial Museum, Humulești

The Humulești house where Ion Creangă grew up, built around 1830 by his grandfather, Petrea Ciubotariul. A museum since 1951, restored in 2024, with the interior of a 19th-century peasant household.

The house was built around 1830 by Petrea Ciubotariul, the storyteller's grandfather, and follows the layout of a rural home in the Neamț region: porch, pantry and the room where many scenes of "Memories of My Boyhood" took place.

The memorial museum has been open since 1951. Following restoration completed in 2024, the house can also be explored through a virtual tour based on a 3D scan of the monument.
